Amplify New and Diverse Voices in Media and Tech: Latinitas 20 in 2020 Campaign

AUSTIN, TX –ย  80% of Austin’s incoming kindergarten is LatinX and 50% of those kids are female so when you say the future is female, that female in Austin is most likely a “Latinita.” Almost 20 years old, Latinitas has been the only bilingual STEM nonprofit in Austin for this long and that impact is having power! Latinitas graduates 50% more STEM graduates than the national average for girls, overall.

Right now, cultivating new and diverse voices in media is more crucial than ever and girls in Latinitas are not only publishing online, creating websites, producing virtual reality cinema, coding and podcasting, but they are doing so with culture and identity as the context.

Latinitas grew staff and programs last year and wants to double down on that with 20% more programs in 2020.ย  That included the launch of Latinitas own coding school that has graduated 43 teen girl full stack developers, 90% Latina and Latinitas first Digital Parents program that teaches basic literacy to “padres” and “abuelos.” That said we have a goal of $17,500 to reach new levels of chica empowerment!ย  Please join us in achieving that goal together during Austin’s one day of massive giving; Amplify Austin and amplify the next generation of innovators!ย
