AUSTIN (TX) — Latinitas will be collaborating with Latinas in Tech (LiT) to host a meetup called “Mastering Mentorship” in Austin on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Spredfast in downtown Austin. The meetup is set to discuss the importance of mentorships and how they help propel Latinas in their careers.
Hosts include Gloria Perez from HomeAway, Sofie Pompa from Spredfast, Leslie Montoya from Univision, and our very own Program Director, Sylvia Butanda from Latinitas.
Latinas in Tech is a group that focuses on empowering and connecting Latinas through professional development, recruitment, and mentorship. Gretel Perera and Rocio Medina Co-founded the organization in Silicon Valley and have since expanded to new cities like Austin and Mexico City. Today, they continue building networks for Latina women in order to combat the underrepresentation of women and minorities in the tech industry.
