Latinitas, a nonprofit that empowers all girls to innovate using media and technology, is bringing their signature Startup Chica Conference to San Antonio, TX on Octorber 8th , 10:00am to 5:00 pm in person at the SABOR cultivating that same spirit in young, emerging entrepreneurs.ย
This iteration of Latinitas Startup Chica Conference walks students through the process of starting a business from concept to pitch with the help of culturally reflective and relevant curriculum, mentors and coaches from all aspects of business development. The Startup Chica Conference provides a space for San Antonioโs young entrepreneurs to use their creativity and explore a possible business venture. The Startup Chica Conference is open to all girls/girl identifying and non-binary students ages 9-14.
Startup Chica San Antonio has recruited the cityโs most exciting female leaders to coach and mentor our chicas. Dell & Founder of Steam Ignite Magda Sanchez Keynote Speaker, San Antonio City Councilwoman-District 4 Dr. Adriana Rocha Garcia, Marketing and Production Speaker of Latina Vote Amanda Reyna, Objective and Strategy Speaker of โVery Thatโ Cristina Martinez, and Pitching Speaker Barbara Binarrowill be in attendance. Comedian and Public Speaker Michelle Cantu will be master of ceremonies.
One of the countryโs only bilingual STEAM nonprofits since 2002, Latinitas has been working with young girls/girl-identifying and non-binary students of color to combat stereotypes in media and technology based on gender and in culture. Event sponsors focused on building female leadership in their companies include eBay, JCPenney, Barbie, HEB, Dell, Honda & Live from the Southside.
