Come enjoy a different kind of Mother’s Day with Latinitas – El Paso with an evening of wine, music, and art and learn how to create an amate painting with local El Paso artist, Maria Natividad.
Amate is a form of art that dates back to prehispanic times and has since become part of the Mexican folk art canon. Learn how indigenous cultures from Mexico created amatl (paper) from fibers off the barks of fig, mulberry, and nettle trees and used it to produce beautiful and colorful paintings of animals and plants in the region.
Enjoy shopping throughout the evening with local vendors like Brigadeiros Brasil, Nerdy Chic, Snozberries Bags and more!
All proceeds benefit Latinitas’ annual programming and support empowering all girls to innovate through media and technology.
NOTE: Our theme is Mother’s Day but you can bring any person along with you. Let’s celebrate the strong women in our lives!

Únete a la celebración de un día de las madres especial con Latinitas, y disfruta de un poco de vino, aperitivos y arte.
Aprende a crear una pintura en papel amate bajo la dirección de Maria Natividad – artista local de El Paso, la cual demostrara este tipo de arte que proviene de tiempos prehispánicos de México.
El papel amatl fue creado por culturas indígenas quienes usaban las fibras de los árboles para pintar sobre ellas bellos dibujos de plantas y animales de la región.
Disfruta de nuestro pequeño bazar con vendedores locales como Brigadeiros Brasil, Nerdy Chic y Snozberries Bags – los cuales tendrán artesanías y curiosidades a la venta.
Todo lo que sea recaudado será utilizado para fines benéficos de los programas anuales de Latinitas.
