We are thrilled to share the exciting news that Gabriela Kane Guardia has been appointed as the new Executive Director of Latinitas by our Board of Directors, following an extensive executive search.
Gabriela brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to empowering young women of color in media and STEAM exploration. With an MA in Latin American Studies from UT Austin and a portfolio in Arts and Cultural Management, she has demonstrated leadership in the realm of culturally-relevant STEAM education during her time as Interim Executive Director and Development Director at Latinitas.
She brings years of experience serving on the Advisory Council of the Innovation Collaborative, a national coalition of leaders fostering creativity, innovation, and equity in learning. Her passion for amplifying diverse cultural heritage, exemplified by her role as Deputy Director at Texas Folklife, aligns with our organization’s community-driven initiatives and values of culture, pride, and inclusion.
Gabriela’s advocacy for the arts and her involvement with esteemed organizations such as the National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures (NALAC) Leadership Institute reflect her dedication to fostering inclusive community development. We are confident that under Gabriela’s guidance, Latinitas will continue to thrive and inspire the next generation of leaders in media and STEAM.
