JCPenney and Latinitas are celebrating their now years-long partnership with a fashion show, and Latinitas Magazine has all the info. On Saturday, August 17th JCPenney and Latinitas will be hosting the Culture is Strength Fashion Show to promote JCPenney’s Hope & Wonder Hispanic Heritage Month collection that will be coming out later this fall in partnership with Latinitas. The exciting event will be held at Austin PBS’s physical location and will feature looks from the collection, alongside back-to-school and fall looks for the whole family! Emceeing the event is CBS Austin Anchor John Carlos Estrada and Latinitas’ very own Salwa Yordi, Latinitas Communications Director and owner of FarandulaTexas.
JCPenney has partnered with Latinitas two years in a row now, and this year would make it three! Each collection has revolved around a specific theme with 2023 calling attention to admiration for our culture. The theme was shown in every article of clothing and item, as T-shirts had sayings like “There is beauty in our culture” and, of course, “Amor Por Me Cultura”. The collection the year prior revolved around the power of togetherness and centered around a shirt with the tagline “Unidos Somos Mas”. This year’s theme is just as relevant, with the fashion show’s theme reflecting the idea that “Culture is Strength”.
A hundred percent of the fashion show proceeds go directly to Latinitas, and purchasing a ticket to Culture is Strength gets you a seat at the show and beauty products courtesy of JCPenney, complimentary drinks, and hors d’oeuvres provided by Suculenta Cocina Mexicana. Each ticket is also automatically entered into a drawing for a chance to win a $500 gift card from JCPenney. Throughout the evening there will also be performances from special acts like Dj Orion La Peligrosa, Mariachi Las Coronelas, Roy Lozano Ballet Folklorico de Texas, Tusuy Sonqo-Peru, and Danzas Venezuela Austin.
Tickets start at just $15 for youth and $25 for adults, to purchase click here and show your support to Latinitas and JCPenney. Let’s celebrate our cultura with a day full of music, dance, and fashion!
